Ronald E. Furry

Ronald E. "Ron" Furry, age 76 of Minocqua, WI died on Tuesday, May 24th at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. Ron was born on July 10, 1939 in Chicago, IL the son of Chester and Phyllis (nee Groski) Furry. Ron graduated from Lane Technical High School and attended Junior College for engineering. Ron served in the U.S. Army and while stationed in Washington, D.C. met and married on June 6, 1964 Carol Renick, who was from Oak Hill, WV and was working for the Navy Department at the time.

Ron worked as a design engineer in the automotive industry for many years and then owned and operated a resort. He was a member of the American Legion Madsen-Empey Post 89 of Minocqua. He enjoyed golfing, motorcycle riding, boating, playing cards, playing pool, chess and target shooting. Ron was gifted with fixing, building and inventing things.

Ron loved to make people happy and laugh and will be missed terribly by his numerous friends and loving family.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carol and by his daughters: Elizabeth, Sheryl and Pamela (Paul) Foeckler and by his sister, Patricia (William) Melby and by his beloved nieces, nephews and numerous and loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Phyllis Furry.

Memorial Services were held on Saturday, May 28th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua, WI.
