RONALD STADE
Ronald Stade, 90, Prentice, died at his home on Thursday, January 4. He was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on May 1, 1927, the son of John and Josephine (Jackson) Stade. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater of Action. He was married to Delores Farkas in Prentice on June 19, 1954. He operated a dairy farm in the Town of Prentice, in his early years worked for the Price County Highway Department, and then was employed by Prentice Hydraulics in Prentice from 1965 until the time of his final retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Southern Price County VFW Post No 8491, and of the Prentice Lions Club. In his free time he enjoyed bowling, card playing, horseshoes, playing softball when he was younger, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three children, Terry (Jollen), Oak Grove, MN, Jeannette Stade, Marysville, KS, and Roni (Larry) Vanderhoof, Prentice; by 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and by one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, on April 24, 2017; and is also preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Adams; by two sisters, Ila Bacholl and Lela Hartmann; and by one brother, Leland “Dean” Stade.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 9, at the Ogema Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Price officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services.
