Roni Dee Vanderhoof was born Roni Dee Stade on May 16, 1965, to Ronald and Deloris Stade. She grew up on their family farm in Prentice, WI. She attended the Prentice School District, graduating in 1983. She left us too soon on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at her home.
Roni married Larry J Vanderhoof on September 25, 1982. They welcomed two children, Chris in 1983, and Erin in 1984. Larry and Roni made their home in the Village of Prentice for ten years before building a home on a portion of the Stade family farm on County Road C in the Town of Prentice. Throughout the years, Roni held many jobs. She was co-owner of Northwoods Specialty, a crafting business and worked part time at The Bee newspaper. She was a bank teller for Wells Fargo, before opening her own business, the Prentice Country Store. She cooked at her sister’s restaurant, Tex’s Toast, and most recently partnered with her husband Larry to run Encore Auctions. Roni did all of this while considering herself a stay-at-home mom, which was the job she loved most. In her free time, Roni loved crafting, playing cards, softball, bowling, and spending time in her garden, which she called her “happy place.” Many of these hobbies she passed down to her family. She was always the most dedicated fan of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports teams, as well as any other activities they participated in.
Roni is survived by her husband Larry Vanderhoof, children Christopher (Elizabeth) Vanderhoof of Prentice and Erin (Greg) Lyons of Catawba, a brother Terry (JoEllen) Stade of Oak Grove, MN, a sister Jeanette Stade of Marysville, KS, seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald, and Deloris Stade of Prentice, father and mother-in-law, Norman and Elaine Vanderhoof of Ogema, and a sister, Tammy Adams, of Prentice.
