ROSS PETERSEN
Ross Andrew Petersen, 89, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Thursday, February 21, 2019, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. He was born in Chelsea, Wisconsin, on October 4, 1929, the son of James and Anna (Hoffmann) Petersen. He was married to Agnes Schneider in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, on October 7, 1950. He was employed as a salesman by the Bunny Bread Bakery Company in the Northern Wisconsin area for many years. In 1982 he purchased Ross’s Sports Shop in Phillips and operated the business until the time of his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church of Phillips. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time in his woods, and while they were younger, watching his son’s ballgames.
He is survived by Agnes “Tootie”, his wife of 68 years; by five children, Debbie Petersen, Phillips, Karen (Gary) Panka, Dousman, WI, Jeffrey (Mary), Prentice, John (Nancy), Farmington, MO, and Jerry (Jodi), St. Charles, MO; by 11 grandchildren, and by 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by three siblings, Irene Mauer, Edmond, and Gladys Odau; and by one great grandson, Isaac Schaake.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 26, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
