Ruth M. Jirschele, nee Quixtner, age 87, of Tomahawk, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Golden Living-Golden Age in Tomahawk. Ruth was born September 4, 1924 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to John C. and Mary J. (Oesterrieicher) Quixtner. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1942 and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield in 1945. She moved to Tomahawk where she worked at Sacred Heart Hospital. She married Thomas Jirschele on April 24, 1948 in Tomahawk.
Later Ruth did private duty nursing, worked at Sacred Heart Hospital for 19 years and then at Golden Living- Golden Age until her retirement. She love spending time with her family and friends and getting together with both her hospital and birthday groups.

Ruth is further survived by seven grandchildren, Erin Thompson, Michaela Kerttula, Bryan Herman, Kelly Nargis, Sara Herman, Kim Ableidinger, Jeff Kurth, Ten Great Grandchildren, a former son-in-law, Dick Fabera of Tomahawk, and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 1991, and a son-in-law, Tim Herman in 2007.
A Memorial Service for Ruth Jirschele will be held on Saturday, October 1st, at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11.
