Ruth Malach

Mrs Ruth Malach, 98 years of age, passed away, quietly in her sleep, on April 25, 2017 at Country Cottage Memory Care facility in Birmingham, AL.
She was born September 22, 1918 in Phillips, WI, the daughter of John and Suzanne Pilch. She taught in rural schools in the 1940’s, married Oscar Malach in 1950 and moved to NJ. He preceded her in death in 1998. In NJ, she worked as a billing clerk at Walker Gordon in Plainsboro where Oscar worked. In 1970, the family moved to Paris, TN in retirement where she became a homemaker. She was a strong woman of faith who was very active at Maplewood Baptist Church. She taught a Sunday school class for 28 years and was a member of the Women’s Mission Union.
She leaves behind her daughter, Donna Cready, grand children Lauren Shofner and Russell Cready and great grand children Autumn and Kylie. She also leaves 2 brothers, Paul and Edward Pilch.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Stephanie, Anna and Mary and by 3 brothers, Andrew, John and Sam. She leaves many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maplewood Baptist Church building fund in Paris, TN. Her ashes will be buried in the family plot in Phillips, WI.
