Sally “Sal” L. Thompson, 69, of Harshaw, WI passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. One of her greatest passions was spending time with and doting on her grandchildren. Most recently, she found joy in sharing pictures of her new great-grandson. An avid bird watcher, she loved the wildlife that surrounded her home, keeping her birdfeeders filled, and was known to chase the away the occasional bear who tried to snack from the feeder. Towards the end of her illness she found enjoyment from the sight-seeing car rides taken in search of deer and other animals. Sally is survived by her companion Don Stadler; her children Michele (Neil) Burns of Theresa, WI, Jeffrey (Kristina) Thompson of Sussex, WI and David (Tracy) Thompson of Waukesha, WI; her grandchildren Matthew (Katie) Burns, Elizabeth Burns, Emily Burns, Gabrielle Burns, Austin Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Samuel Thompson, Caroline Thompson and Natalie Thompson; her step-grandchildren Gina (Ted) Hickey-Liskowtiz, Tasha (Dan) Greene and Joshua Hintz; her great-grandson Christopher Burns and her step-great-grandchildren Kaylee, Madison and Alicia Liskowtiz and Dakota Greene. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Sally was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father Edwin Gramling and her brother Gerald Maule.
