SHERYL SLABY
Sheryl Lynn Slaby, 65, Phillips, died in the Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee on Wednesday, March 4.
She was born in Highland, IN, on October 11, 1954, the daughter of Jim and Grace (Wiltjer) Rachau. She was married to John Slaby in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Phillips on October 10, 1974. She was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church and was currently serving on the Price county board of Supervisors. She owned and operated the Westside Express in Phillips, and most recently was employed by the Lake of the Torches Casino as Surveillance Lead. Her family was most important to her, and in her free time she enjoyed caring for her dogs and cats, feeding birds, and was an avid Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband, John; by two daughters, Laura (Wil) Isham, Hatley, WI, and Lisa, Phillips; by three grandchildren, DJ, Dean, and Dash; by brothers John Rachau, Phoenix, AZ, and David Rachau, Highland, IN; by one sister, Jenny Rachau, Griffith, IN; and by her dogs, Katie, Dixie, and Willow. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by one brother, Jim.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 10, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Lourdu Raju Madanu celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of an offering to Catkins animal Rescue in Sheryl's name.
