Sidney Dale Hunter Jr., 59, of Woodruff, Wisconsin, passed away on January 10th, 2022 at his home surrounded by family after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Sid was born on May 18th, 1962 to Virginia Hunter-Collins and Sidney Hunter Sr. in Woodruff. After graduating from Lakeland Union High School in 1980, he went on to work in Colorado but soon made it back to his hometown of Woodruff, where he then met his wife, Heidi Hunter. On May 23, 1987, Sid and Heidi were married, spending more than 34 beautiful years at each other’s side.
Aside from his wife, Heidi, Sid also leaves behind two children: Sidney Hunter (Kelsey Backlund), and Cali (Logan) Dankovich, and one grandchild: Brantley Dankovich.
Sid was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and trapshooting. When he wasn’t working, you could also find Sid tinkering around his woodshop, where he spent hours doing what he loved: building things.
Anyone who knew Sid knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Hunter Sr., his half-brother, Jerry Wayne Carroll, as well as uncles and aunts. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchild; his mother, Virginia Hunter-Collins; brothers Tab (Dawn), Tragg (Katy), and Christopher Hunter; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life from 1:30-4:30 p.m. for all family, friends, and acquaintances of Sid’s on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 at Nimsgern Funeral Home in Woodruff.
