Sophie Callaway

Sophie Callaway, age 94, Tomahawk, passed away January 23, 2013 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk. Sophie was born September 24, 1918 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Stanley and Pauline (Cienian) Romanowski. She was married to Raymond Callaway on November 13, 1956, he passed away in 1994. Sophie was raised in the Milwaukee area, and lived most of her life there. She moved to Tomahawk in 2003 to be near her family. She was a very active member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Sophie was a homemaker, and enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews. Survivors include: Niece Jane (Ronald) Wisniewski Tomahawk Nephew Stanley (Addie) Romanowski Montello Sister-in-law Jane Romanowski Tomahawk Sophie is further survived by great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers - Stanley (Virginia) and Raymond Romanowski. A Memorial Mass for Sophie Callaway will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
