On Tuesday October 5th Susan Nienow (nee Winter), 70, passed away peacefully in the sunshine at her home after a long battle with cancer. Susan was born in 1950 in Tomahawk, her parents were Vera and Franklin Winter. She graduated from Tomahawk High in 1968 and was a member of the Kwahamot Water Ski Club. Afterward, she attended the School of Cosmetology.
Susan moved to Arbor Vitae and married Jeff Nienow, where they fulfilled her lifelong dream in raising their two sons, Matthew (Anja) and Michael. She was an active member of Eaglebrook Church, Bible Study and the local Women’s Republican Party. Her passions included fishing, golfing, tennis, crafting, gardening, camping, water- and downhill skiing; and most of all, her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Kurt and Caroline. She is survived by her sisters Kathy Perko (of Mercer) and Patricia Clothier (of Arbor Vitae).
Memorial Gathering for Susan will be held on Friday, October 15th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am
at Eaglebrook Church in Woodruff, WI with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am and fellowship to
follow at Nimsgern Funeral Home Reception Hall.
