Sylvester "Tuds" Santos

August 2, 1946 — August 31, 2018

Sylvester A. Santos (better known as “Tuds”) of Manitowish Waters passed away on August 31st. He is survived by His love of the last 11 years, Dawn Streicher and two daughters; Heidi Santos and Quin LaRoche and 4 grandchildren; Tanner Roth, Joseph LaRoche, Joshua LaRoche and Logan Jamrock and by 5 great grandchildren; Elexus, Joseph, Jayden, Jasmine & Jasper LaRoche. Further survived by 3 sisters; Ramona (Louis) Huber, Alice Wentler and Geraldine (Jerry) Sokolik. Tuds was preceded in death by his parents; William and Anna and by 4 brothers; William Jr., Howard, Tony and his twin Sylvan and by 4 sisters; Lari Hinrichs, Lenora Hauger, Irene Durst and Sandra Braddock and by 1 grandson, Jeremy LaRoche.
Born in Madison he was a builder and carpenter both in Southern Wisconsin and Up North where he had his own sawmill. Over the years Tuds enjoyed everything from horses, motorcycles, traveling, golfing, playing cribbage, sheepshead or poker. He had a lot of great dogs (and spoiled everyone else’s dogs too) Mostly Tuds enjoyed spending time with a lot of great friends at Happy Hours throughout the State. His last 11 years were spent with Dawn running the Howling Dog Saloon where he loved spending time with old friends, new friends and family.
There will be a gathering at The Howling Dog Saloon (“The Last Happy Hour Party”) on Saturday, September 15th at 2:30 pm. Food & “Blue Smoothies” will be provided.
