Terry Lynn Szarmack

Terry Lynn Szarmack, 67, of Palatine, IL passed away peacefully on July 28, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 6, 1948 in Chicago to Frank C. and Opal E. (Hainy) Szarmack. He graduated from Hubbard High School in Chicago and was of the Catholic faith.
Terry was a proud Vietnam-era veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Germany. He was a loyal caregiver to his parents who preceded him in death. He was employed as a technical analyst for United Airlines for many years. He greatly enjoyed new cars, traveling, antiquing and watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Terry is survived by his uncles, Joe Simurdiak and Emil Hladish, Phillips, and cousins, Gwen Parkinson, Patti Janak, Ed Hainy, and Ron Simurdiak of Phillips, Bob Hladish of Catawba, Lynne McFadyen of Eau Claire, Kathy Kosiba of Minoqua, Lora Hainy of Wausau, LaLonnie Vandezande, LaLinda Tadwalt, and Sandra Soda of Ripon, Monica Glasser of Montello, Ken Simurdiak of Rochester, MN, and Jane Groeper of Metamora, IL.
Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, with military honors conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778 and the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122.
