Thomas E. Rothwell, age 70, N11640 Hwy. Y, Tomahawk, passed away August 9, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.
Tom was born August 23, 1937 in Dodgeville, the son of Roy and Victorine (Sullivan) Rothwell. He was formerly married to Verda Ruhland. Tom was raised in the Dodgeville and Linden areas, where he attended school. Tom joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17, and served during the Korean War. He moved from Madison to the Tomahawk area in 1977. He was an Iron Worker until 1985. He owned and operated Bradley Sheet Metal from 1985 until his retirement in 2002. Tom was past president and past District Commander for the American Legion Bronsted Searl Post #93. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk, where he served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, golf, and cribbage.

Tom is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son - Robert Rothwell, 3 sisters - Ann Bennett, Marilyn Yearous, Julie Davis, and 1 brother - Robert Rothwell.
A Memorial Mass for Thomas Rothwell will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Following Mass, a gathering to celebrate memories of Tom will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Tomahawk. There will also be a Memorial Service held in Verona at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2008 from St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Interment will be St. Andrew's Cemetery.
