Thomas M. Runkle, 62, of 10197 Woodland Trail, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Golden Living-Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.
Tom was born on September 7, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Ann (Paul) Runkle. He served his country in the US Army A Troop, 3/17th Air Calvary during the Viet Nam War. He married Pamela Hall on February 23, 1973 in Franklin Park, Illinois. Tom and Pam moved to the Tomahawk area in 1976, he was employed as a carpenter for a few years and later was employed for over 20 years at Lincoln Hills School. He worked in maintenance, Patrol, youth counselor, and also in communications. In his free time Tom enjoyed woodworking, painting, cooking, and spent some time serving as Colonel T for Art Kistler, an Elvis Tribute Artist.

Tom is further survived by 2 Grandchildren, Anna and Russell Runkle.
A Private family graveside service with Military Rites for Tom Runkle will be held at the Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the town of Nokomis.
