Ticy A. Retherford

Ticy A. Retherford, age 89, 909 Dorr Ave., Rhinelander, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Ascension St. Mary Hospital in Rhinelander. Ticy was born May 6, 1927 in Tomahawk to George and Verle Fryar. She married Lawrence “Junior” Retherford on July 12, 1947 in Tomahawk. He passed away in 2006. Ticy worked for many years with her brother, Pat at the Snack Shack Restaurant, she was an accomplished seamstress, and had owned and operated the Hazy Bay Resort on Lake Nokomis from 1959 until 1971. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, dancing, bowling, playing pool, and going to casinos. Survivors include: Her Daughter, Sandra (Doug Bouffiou) Retherford Rhinelander Ticy is further survived by many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior, 6 brothers, George, Jr., Nathan, Elton, Patrick, Tommer, and Shorty Fryar. 2 half siblings, Ruth Lutes and Leonard Lutes. Funeral Services for Ticy Retherford will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
