Timothy Daniel "Tim" Severson, 72, of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, Wisconsin from non hodgkin's lymphoma. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Clarence M., II and Elaine E. (Kramer) Severson. Upon their divorce, he and his brother, Clarence III, went to live with their Grandpa and Grandma Severson in Duluth, Minnesota, where Tim recalled many fond memories while with them. Elaine remarried Bobbie G. McNary and the boys went to live with them in Rockford, Illinois where he later met and married Elizabeth “Libby” Holtry in 1969. He worked for Chrysler’s Belvidere Assembly Plant. In 1976, they moved to Stacy, Minnesota and later Rush City, Minnesota where he worked as a machinist at Globe Tool and Manufacturing. In 1981, he moved the family to Lewistown, Montana to be closer to his parents, Bobbie and Elaine. Together, Tim and Libby operated Severson Landfill. They separated in 1991, and he returned to Minnesota and machinist work until he decided, in 2011, to leave the cold north for a warmer Florida climate. He met his beautiful southern gal and soul mate, Sandra Southard, who was lovingly by his side when he peacefully passed, in 2012, and they resided in her home of Adele, Georgia. Together, Tim and Sandra were transporters of motorhomes, and this allowed for many adventures all across the United States. In 2021, they moved up north and settled in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin where Tim would eventually retire.
Tim enjoyed making people laugh, fishing, Nascar, cooking, shopping for bargains, collecting things, visiting with people and spending time with his family. His goofiness and insightful wisdom will be missed dearly.
Tim is survived by his partner and soul mate, Sandra Southard of Arbor Vitae; son Timothy David Severson of Sheridan, Wyoming and daughter Kerry (Marvin) Vaughn of Lewistown, Montana; brother Clarence “Clay” Severson of Minnesota and sister Cheryl (Tim) Schultz of Lewistown, Montana; special brother-in-law Jim Holtry of Center City, Minnesota; grandchildren Camryn and Bradley Vaughn and Jadyn Severson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence M. II and Marrian E. Severson, Bobbie G. and Elaine E. McNary, and brother Robbie McNary.
No formal service will be held as per Tim’s request, but please join us for a celebration of his life with family and friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25th at his home.
