Tony DeBels, age 54, 914 E. Mohawk Drive, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Ministry St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.
Tony was born February 8, 1957 in Tomahawk, the son of George and Caryol (McKinney) DeBels. He was a 1975 graduate of Tomahawk High School. Following graduation, he attended UW - Stevens Point, playing football for 2 years with the Pointers, and receiving a B.A. in Education in 1980. Tony was a Sheet Metal Worker and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Association. He enjoyed motorcycling and traveled 48 states and Canada by bike. He led the first benefit ride from Scooter's Bar, which is now known as the Tomahawk Fall Ride. He enjoyed hunting with his family.

Tony is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother - Karel "Stub" DeBels.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tony DeBels will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2011 from St. Augustine Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Ron Serrao and Michele Rein will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Harrison.
