Travis James Erickson, 43, of Arbor Vitae, WI was welcomed into the arms of the Lord unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, September 10, 2021, at his residence. Travis was born on May 20, 1978, to Dennis and Mary (Roth) Erickson of Campbellsport. The family relocated to Arbor Vitae several years later.
Travis was a 1996 Lakeland Union High School Graduate. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and work in Corrections. He began his path at Waupun Correctional Institution and then transferred to
Mc Naughton Correctional in Lake Tomahawk. Sergeant Travis Erickson was the coordinator of the work-release program.
He would spend his free time in the beautiful, great outdoors. Travis enjoyed volleyball, golfing, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and being on the trails using his ATV with his buddies. He also loved to travel especially to Ireland. He had a smile that was embraced by two dimples on each side and was a tender-hearted man.
Beloved son of Dennis and the late Mary (Roth) Erickson of Arbor Vitae. Loving grandson of Beatrice (Ullrich - Roth) Mueller, dear brother to Sonya (Brian) Dudor, proud uncle of Kayla, Samuel, Ethan, and Liam Dudor. Travis is further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues who will remember his loyalty, friendship, and willingness to lend a hand.
Travis was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Roth) Erickson, brother Reverend Ryan Erickson, his grandfather, Eugene Roth; grandfather, Raymond Erickson; grandmother, Erna (McFarlane) Erickson; step-grandfather, Joseph Mueller and many dear and departed family members and friends.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place with a Memorial Gathering to be held on Saturday, September 18th from 2 - 6 p.m. Travis will be laid to rest next to his late mother and brother at St. Mathew’s Cemetery in Campbellsport.
The Erickson family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all family, friends, and colleagues at Mc Naughton Correctional Center.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vilas or Oneida County Law Enforcement/First Responders in memory of Travis James Erickson.
