Vera Konkel found peace and eternal life on July 20, 2007, 5 days after celebrating her 90th birthday.
Vera's life began July 15, 1917 in South Wales, England.
After marrying Harry J. Konkel, who was stationed with the U.S. Army, she and her infant daughter Jeanette - both surviving the bombings of London during WWII, came across the ocean to the United States in 1945 to start their life together. They lived in West Allis for many years, where they raised 4 sons and 3 daughters. After numerous years of family vacationing in Tomahawk, they decided in 1973 to reside and make Tomahawk their new home.
Vera was a compassionate and caring person to all. She was involved with the Linus Project out of Durango, Colorado, where she knit numerous afghans for infants and children that were going through a life-changing crisis. Each afghan was knit with tender love and care. Many knew her for her smiling face and friendly "Hellos". She was indeed a friend to all.
Survived and deeply missed by:
