Vernon E. Albrecht, 83, a longtime Tomahawk resident passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Golden Living-Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Vern was born on July 13, 1929 in Ogema, Wisconsin to Edwin and Matilda Albrecht. He married Barbara Robinson on September 29, 1954 in Antigo, Wisconsin. She passed away in 1988. Vern graduated from Prentice High School and had served in the Naval Reserves. He had been a farmer, a taxi driver in Antigo, a milk hauler, and also worked road construction. Most of his working life he had been employed by the Tomahawk Boat Company and later Harley Davidson as a truck driver. He was proud to have never had an accident in over 30 years of driving truck. Vern enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a love of aviation. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Tomahawk.

3 Daughters, Margie Albrecht, Merrill, Debra Albrecht, Merrill, Lori (Jeff) Janusz, Woodruff.
2 Sons, Timothy Albrecht and Robert Albrecht both of Tomahawk
Vern is further survived by 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara, and 2 Sisters.
Funeral Services for Vernon Albrecht will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. from the United Methodist Church. Rev. Allen Christensen will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
