Vivian A. Cook, age 83, 7075 Long Lake Rd., Rhinelander, passed away peacefully in her Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Westminster, Colorado.
Vivian was born October 30, 1929, in Liberty Township, WI. The family moved to Appleton and Vivian confirmed her baptismal vows at St.Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1947. Vivian married William Charles Cook from Pickerel, WI, on February 23, 1952. They lived in Butler, WI until their retirement, when they moved to Rhinelander and owned and operated Cook's Nook in Tomahawk, WI. Survivors include her children, David (Crystal) Cook, Roseville, MN; William (Carolyn) Cook, Tomahawk, WI; Bonnie (Douglas) Moudry, Milwaukee, WI; Kelly (Jeff) Holder, Northglenn, CO; sister Marcella Gendill, Westminster, CO; brother Vernon (Rita), Neenah, WI; sister Vicki (Dennis) Sheldon, Appleton, WI. Vivian is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great-children, and 3 great-children on the way, and many other family and friends in Wisconsin and Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents Alvin and Clara Lemke, brother Eugene, sister Karen Selle. A Funeral Service for Vivian Cook will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 16 Theiler Drive, Tomahawk, 54487. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. A memorial service was also held at Christ Lutheran Church in Denver on April 11. Burial will be at Mosquito Hill Cemetery in Liberty Township on Monday, April 15. Memorials can be made to the family, and will be directed to her two home churches.
