Walter "Wally" J. Kriesant, 81, passed away on September 15, 2016 in Wausau, WI at Aspirus Hospital after being hospitalized since April 1st with congestive heart failure.
Wally was born in Wilmette, IL on May 13, 1935 to John J. Kriesant and Flora née Stillwell of Merrill, WI. Prior to moving to WI, Wally served for 20 years with the Elk Grove Village Fire Department, retiring in 1991. Before his time with the Elk Grove fire department, he was a mail carrier and firefighter in Wilmette, IL. After moving to Tomahawk, he opened the Four Corners Tap, located on Highway 8 & Tannery Road. Wally was the former president of the Tavern League.
Wally is survived by his beloved wife Lee; his 2 sons Johnny, of Merrill & Fred Morgan, of Skokie, IL; and his daughter Terry Abrams, of Bloomington, IN .
He is further survived by 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandsons; his sisters Barbara Ray of Alaska, Carol Schneider of IL, JoAnne Kriesant-Weld, of FL., his Aunt Marge Kriesant, of IL and his countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends he held dear, including his treasured friends from his Four Corners Tap.
A Celebration of Wally’s Life, will take place at Four Courner’s Tap on October 2, 2016 during the Bears game. Friends are invited to gather from 11AM until the end of the game.
In lieu of flowers, donations sent to a GoFundMe page for Wally's medical bills would be appreciated.
