WARREN EDWARD CARLSON
Warren E. Carlson, 89, Prentice, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips.
He was born on July 22, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Clarence Edward and Ruth Eleanor (Hedman) Carlson.
He moved to Prentice with his family as a child.
He attended and graduated from Prentice High School, Class of 1946, he then attended Augustana College in Chicago.
He was married to Betty Kalander on July 12, 1952, in Prentice. They celebrated over 65 years of marriage.
He was employed by the Soo Line and Canadian National Railroad as well as worked as a dairy farmer and raised beef cattle prior to his retirement.
He was a life member of First Lutheran Church, Prentice, where he served on many committees and was an avid choir member, and the Prentice Lions Club. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, and singing for many occasions.
He is survived by his wife Betty, Prentice, by his children: Cheryl (Tom) Griffiths, Mosinee, Wi., his twins: Wendy (Russ) Hinsa, Tomahawk, and Warren D. (Rachel) Carlson Prentice, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother Herbert Carlson and by an uncle “Unk” Clarence Hedman.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the First Lutheran Church, Prentice, with Pastor Lowell Bolstad officiating.
Friends may call at First Lutheran Church, Prentice on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
A memorial fund has been established.
