Warren "John" Landers, age 74, of 21 W. Spirit Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Wausau Aspirus Hospital. He was born May 3, 1935 in Milwaukee to the late George and Josephine Landers… and was married to Nancy Schmit on Oct. 5, 1957 in Tomahawk. "John" moved to Tomahawk in 1962 from Milwaukee when he took employment at the former Tomahawk Power and Pulp Company, later worked for Hetzel Plumbing, and was truck driver for the City of Tomahawk for many years. He served his country during the Korean War and was a proud member of the National Guard for 20 years.
Survivors include: His wife Nancy of Tomahawk,1 Son Jeffrey, also of Tomahawk, 2 Daughters, Sandra Stevens of Milwaukee, and Jennifer Dirk of Aurora, CO, 1 Brother, Greg (Donna) Landers of Sheboygan. He is further survived by 6 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Warren "John" Landers will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass at 11. A Military Tribute Service will precede services at 11:00 at the church.
