Wayne Behrens, age 57, N9580 Anglers Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Madison. Wayne was born December 29, 1953 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Wallace and Melva (Lieber) Behrens. Wayne moved to the Tomahawk area in 1970. He was U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1972 - 1975. He married Linda Taves on September 13, 1991 in Merrill. Wayne was a purchasing agent for the Department of Natural Resources for 23 years. He loved reading, swimming, playing Jeopardy, and his dog, Kirby. Survivors include: Wife & Best Friend Linda Behrens Tomahawk Daughters Tara (Todd) Meier Tammy (Lenny Jazdzewski) Taves both of Tomahawk Brothers Forrest (Jacqueline) Behrens Florence, Alabama Wallace (Sharon) Behrens Illinois Sister Melody (Edwin) Wilson Bauxite, Arkansas Sisters-in-law Sandy Behrens Tomahawk Esther (Ron) Fuller Hazelhurst Julie (Tom) Lund Tomahawk Brothers-in-law Harold Taves Florida Derrick Taves Hawaii Mother-in-law Gladys Taves Tomahawk Wayne is further survived by 3 grandchildren - Trina, Haley, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother - Cliff, stepdad - Leif Dybsand, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and 1 great niece. Funeral Services with Military Tribute for Wayne Behrens will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of services at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery in Irma.
