Wayne “Twig” Joseph Pike, 76, of Phillips, was called home to be with the Lord, with his family present at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.
Twig was born October 26, 1946, to Robert and Anna Pike (Paluch) in Chicago, Illinois. He attended De La Salle High school where he graduated and went on to St. Procopius College. He joined the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam war from 1969 to 1970, earning the many medals, including the purple heart. He married Leda Ballard on June 3, 1978. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage and friendship together. Twig loved music, his favorites being: Elvis, the Beatles, Rolling stones, Bee Gees and The Eagles. He also taught his two sons how to play the guitar. Twig loved fishing with his sons and daughter, along with his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Leda; brother, Robert Pike; sons, Michael Pike and Robert Pike; daughter, Tracy Bronson; grandsons, Trevor Bronson, Trenton Bronson, Corbin Pike, and Talan Bronson; and granddaughter, Mira Pike (aka Dr. Mimi). He was loved and respected by all that ever had the privilege of meeting him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna; and brother, Gary Pike.
A memorial service for Wayne will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Maranatha Baptist Church, N9310 Old 13 Rd, Phillips, WI 54555, with pastor Christian Markle officiating. Inurnment will take place following the service at 2:00pm at Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw, Wisconsin. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
