WILLIAM LAPP
William Albert Lapp, 86, Phillips, Town of elk, died at his home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on May 24, 1929, the son of Albert and Beulah (Wright) Lapp. He was married to Shirley Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and they later divorced. He was married to Carol Foytik Vyskocil in Phillips on February 3, 1978. He served his country in the Unites States Army Medical Corps. In his early years he was employed as a Factory Representative, and later served as Vice President of Sales for Phillips Plastics Corporation. He went on to found and operate Phillips Sew and Assembly and operated Variety Fair in Phillips with his family. In his free time he loved singing and was a Barbershopper. He was active with the Northwoods Players. He was an avid John Wayne fan, and for many years raised exotic poultry.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; by two sons, David (Shirley), North Augusta, South Carolina, and Dennis (Tina), Wausau; by four step-children, Scott (Brenda) Vyskocil, David Vyskocil, Tina (Frank) Dezort, and Debbie (Steve) Bogdanovic, all of Phillips; by 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; by two brothers, David (Robbie), Hernando, FL, and Alan (Mary), Clanton, AL; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Jamieson; and by one brother, Francis Edward Lapp.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, October 26, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Deacon Chet Ball officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.
