William 'Bill' Honnold, age 80, 118 Voerman St., Tomahawk, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
Bill was born August 14, 1930 in Racine, the son of Howard and Lillian (Hays) Honnold. He was a Wausau Senior High School graduate, and excelled at football and basketball while in high school. He attended the Wausau Technical Institute, and also attended UWSP for 2 years. He married Marcella 'Marcy' Polka on September 5, 1959 in Mosinee. Bill first worked with U.S. Industries from 1956 - 1968. He was then employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Owens-Illinois for many years, retiring in 2000. Bill was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Staff Sergeant MP in U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Bill is further survived by 11 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill Honnold will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. A Veteran Tribute will precede Mass. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk, with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mosinee.
