WILLIAM J. VEVERKA
William Joseph Veverka, 81, Phillips, Town of Elk, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was born in Jerico, Iowa, on May 11, 1935, the son of Louis and Louise (Novotny) Veverka. He was married to Rosella Meives on October 31, 1963, in Michigan. He operated a dairy farm in the Town of Elk, was employed by the Baumgartner Mink Ranch , and served as Attendant of the Town of Elk Recycling Center for many years. Work was truly Bill’s interest and hobby in life, but he did get in a little time for hunting and fishing
He is survived by seven children, Juanita Von Seggern, Marshfield, MO, Everett “Butch” (Geneva) Meives, Apple Valley, MN, Kenneth, Finland, MN, George (Barb) Meives, Phillips, Lawrence (Bonnie) Meives, Phillips Dan (Rosie) Meives, Phillips, and Al (Mary) Meives, Ogema, WI; by one sister, Darlene (Frank( Riggs, Phillips; and by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosella; two sons, Melvin Meives, Jack “Punk” Meives; by one daughter, Rose Ann Meives; by his parents, Louie and Louise Veverka; and by one sister and her husband Lucille and Joseph Horak
