William 'Bill' Kolasa, age 64, W7867 State Hwy. 86, Tomahawk, died unexpectedly Monday, January 25, 2010 at his home.
Bill was born March 26, 1945 in Gilman, the son of William and Florence (Ciok) Kolasa. He was raised in Gilman, and was a 1963 graduate of Gilman High School. He attended Taylor County Teachers' College, earned his Bachelor's Degree from UW - Stevens Point, and later earned his Master's Degree from UW - Superior. He moved to Tomahawk in 1965, where he began his teaching career. Bill married Sandra Hessefort on November 19, 1966 in Medford. He began coaching Youth Hockey in the mid 70s, and was a long-time hockey coach for Tomahawk High School. He coached the Tomahawk Chiefs in Little League Baseball for many years. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing - especially with his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing with friends, gardening, and wine making. Bill was very close with his grandchildren, and spoke with them nightly on the telephone. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Bill is further survived by 5 grandchildren - Natalie, Kirsten, Tyler, Brandon, & Jeremy Kolasa.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bill Kolasa will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2010 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
