Ezekiel (‘Zeke’) John Jonas, 20, of Manitowish Waters, passed unexpectedly on August 1st, 2013. He was born in Woodruff, WI, on November 20th, 1992 to Bruce and René Jonas. He graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 2011. Zeke was employed with Folsom Farms Cranberry Marsh in Manitowish Waters and was an integral part of the daily cranberry marsh operations. He was also employed at the Aberdeen Lodge in Manitowish Waters. In the off-season, he was a member of the Matt Ritchie Motorsports Race Team as a chassis technician. Zeke was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a proud lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. His love of watersports involved him in the Plum Skeeters Waterski Team, where he enjoyed taking part in the barefooting line, pyramid, and doubles. When Zeke was not skiing, you could still find him boating with friends and family. Zeke was a craftsman with skills beyond his years. He was passionate about woodworking, welding, and taxidermy. Other hobbies Zeke enjoyed were snowmobiling, four wheeling, motocross, pond hockey, football, golfing amongst many other activities. Zeke was preceded in death by his father Bruce Jonas and is survived by his mother, René Jonas (Brian Rayala); and siblings, Brittany (Matt Schultz), Zachariah, Lyndsey (Bruno Borowczyk), Natalie, (Ty and Travis Rayala), and Zeke’s beloved dog Emma. He is further survived by grandparents Don and Kay Jonas and family, along with grandparents Lynn and Margaret Kirsteatter and family. Funeral services for Zeke will be held on Saturday, August 10th, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Free Evangelical Church in Woodruff. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ezekiel Jonas Memorial Fund established at the River Valley Bank.
